charts show the past & present and foretell the future

showing us the past behavior of humans will foretell the future

behavior of people never change, cuz people never do

stop. go back and read that sentence one more time...

now write it down on a post it note and save it
in your safety deposit box, because it just may be the
most valuable 7 words of your entire trading career

how about the human behavior and the fundamentals of ' T/A ' ?
technical analysis with recognition of chart patterns = fundamentals

recognition of chart patterns is the utmost importance of technical analysis

TA is priceless when recognition of chart patterns are included with

French Curves, Bollinger Bands, Stochastics, Candle Sticks,

Point & Figure, Fibonnacci, or E-Wave analysis...

it does matter when done by John Bollinger, Robert Prechter,

John Murphy, Jim Sinclair, Tom Dorsey, Steve Nison, JoeGranville,
Richard Ney*, Gerald Appel, & Don Wolanchuk, they're old pros

For TA to be used effectively, technical data must always be
combined with both the fundamentals and sentiment= chart pattern recognition

pattern recognition= history which is [past, present= future]

TA with pattern recognition is like drinking a bottle of Spanish-fly. It’s like a bomb…

fundamentals alone is impotent and harmless when you include the
"FED" which is the "Mother of all Manipulators" …now you have nothing

Hi Slider,

I have been following your thread now for a little over a year now. I am a first time poster.

Your analysis has always seemed to be pretty spot on. Would you ever consider doing any investment coaching? I am new to the game and want to get better.

Chris

Excellent post to be leaving on, however your golf analogy sucks.
Reverse it and let Tiger Woods have the 3 clubs and us a full set, and Woods would still whip us.

Today I turned 40.

Yesterday my bride threw an incredible intimate surprise party for me and our closest 35 friends that she had been planning since April.
I never had a single clue she was working on this event.
I have to admit I was excited & humbled all at the same time.
Why didn't I recognize the clues that she was working tirelessly for months to make me happy?

I think I was too busy trying to preserve & improve our financial life in the market & our RE investments;
"I couldn't see the forrest for the trees."

What did I actually net?

Well I can say for sure we didn't lose any capital ( we had a modest gain) but I don't think we really gained ANYTHING missing out on paying attention to each other.

Shame on me, Tim

Slider on the Black

Nicely done, good primer on trading..philosphy, TA and FA.

Don't see anything but a lot of commons sense and some experience.

Looking back on some of your posts/thread, I fail to understand what the big deal was all about though...some pretty nasty episodes on your part...maybe there was instigation by others??

A lot of rear view mirror stuff, predicting what has already happened , but history is the almighty reference manual (most people just never read it).

I don't see the benefits of trying so hard to be a guru here...when there is so much smoke and mirrors. SI is just a good place to troll for information..get leads etc. However one must understand most leads are deadends.

Also SI is not a place to get too emotional. A lot of your stuff just seems plain silly, to be truthful...however there is also a good chance I just don't get it....or may not be worthy

Cheers
