I can't find anywhere to chart energy stocks, but the financial and utilities sectors held up right til the very end:

And, you guessed it - the Financials were the last to peak!
Only the transports really went into a solid bear before October 1973. Look at that October 1973 bounce! I guess Utilities were also in trouble earlier, too.

Interesting that Transports are now some of the weaker issues.
