you're missing the point. for the intel worshipers if it's not done by intel it's incompatible but even if intel is the only one who is doing it is a standard. ala ia64 being the standard. they just want their beloved monopoly to go back to the glorious old days so their stock goes "to the moon" again. can you imagine what we'd be paying for 64 bit processing now if intel managed to make ia64 isa to be the dominant 64 bit one as they've several times declared that they wished to do on their web site despite the denials of some here.
