The company that really does manage to tie together the PC and the living room is going to have a leg up in all kinds of ancillary products and services. i think the problem is more legal than technological at this point. there are any number of devices that can store video/audio/pics from wherever--DVRs, Xbox 360, PS3 (?), Slingbox, AppleTV. i think AppleTV provides an excellent experience. Jobs was an idiot to call it a hobby (not the first time the CEP has been an idiot). technology is not its limit. the limit is the content providers. they don't want to go to the free or near free (90% of content is stolen) model the music industry has been forced into. what will force the industry's hand?
