Apple is on the bottom.<< Wyatt - I certainly will check it out. But I'd have to know a little bit more about the methodology used in collecting the data, what period of time it covered, and whether there was some kind of event or events that might have skewed the numbers in that time period, before I could use that survey to conclude that Apple's products are really unreliable as a general rule. As an example of soemthing that might skew the results of a survey, how about a major transition of the entire product line from PowerPC to Intel chips, with the resulting changes in the entire supply and manufacturing chain? I think the idea that most users of Macs are being let down by their hardware on a consistent basis, but they still praise Apple because they have some kind of religious feeling about the company is just silly. Good word of mouth comes from satisfied customers. Business 101. I like Apple as a company because I like the experience of using their products. The products work for me, and they are pleasant to use. If they weren't pleasant, even fun, to use, I wouldn't like them so much. Since I do IT consulting for a living, I have to work with Windows machines, including Dells, HPs, etc., all the time. I don't find them as pleasant or as easy to use, despite the fact that I actually have much more experience with PCs than with Macs. Up until 2001, I used PC notebooks for work, and ran Windows at home on PCs that I built myself. In 2001 I bought my first Mac, a PowerBook. For a long time I used both the PowerBook and a Windows PC. Gradually, I used the PC less and less, and now it hasn't even been booted up in well over a year. I do still occasionally run Windows on my MacBook Pro, using Parallels. My point is simply that my experience with the products is what drives my feeling about Apple as a company, and not vice versa. - Allen
