>>>COS.UN when it was priced at about 10% of its current value. Anyone who bought it then is getting 100% per year return just in dividends<<<

This comment was based on $USD, not Canadian dollars. The Canadian dollar has appreciated by over 50% in the last seven years and the price and yield of COS.UN have increased accordingly for U. S. investors. Canadian investors have only seen their stock and dividend increase about sixfold over the same period.

A continuing decline of the U. S. dollar would continue to leverage COS for U. S. holders.

Not much, really. There seems to be quite a bit of discussion of stocks that do not pay any dividends. David Culver,a very knowledgeable but modest investor, was recommending COS.UN when it was priced at about 10% of its current value. Anyone who bought it then is getting 100% per year return just in dividends.

Fair enough, I will agree that thread does emphasize trading over buy and hold mostly..I do have to give a lot of credit to Mac and Taikun.. Because of them I got into era.ax, qua.to, cll.to, and hbm.to when those stocks were much lower.
