A mess, screwy, not good, idiotic and then some... just like much of what comes and has come out of Foggy Bottom.

I doubt that it would have all that much long term effect on business (especially larger ones) though other than an additional currency in their G/L, and some "paperwork" to get on the list of US companies that are authorized to be a multinational and deal in both currencies.

By the way and just so its clear - Uncle Harry has been talking about it for years. It isn't something new and there are rumors that have been flying around about the "red back" (the external currency is supposedly red instead of green) for years too. I even remember one from the '70s

In a sense, yes you would have to apply to travel if for no other reason than to obtain external currency or the right to use a charge card elsewhere... and that's just a guess.
