It's the most representative government the people of Iraq have ever had. Give me any time in Iraq's history when it had a more "self determined government" than it has now. I'm waiting, go ahead, when? NEVER, the emphasis is NEVER not in the past not in the present. The Iraqi always elected Saddam. However, they elected the this government as a US poppet government. That's just stupid. They elected the government and have the most representative government that they have ever had, but they voted for the puppet version? There were a number of candidates on the ballot, and any Iraqi could run. So.....why do you call it a puppet government, just because the US military was in the country? Is that it? Why did the Iraqi voters choose the puppet candidate, if that's what you are claiming? The claim is silly and with no foundation. The US military was in Iraq does not equate to the elected Iraqi goverment are US puppets. In fact, the US political leadership can't stand the Iraqi PM as far as I can tell. But he's a US puppet? That makes no sense.I was merely pointing out the fact that the Iraqi do not count as long as US interest is protected. No one is arguing with you there.Elroy, you used the same line for the Palestinians in Gaza. You have to look things from the people living there point of view not through the peep hole that the US wants you to see through. The Iraqis who choose to kill other Iraqis rather than build a business are making that choice, and are responsible for the repurcussions of that choice. That has nothing to do with peep holes or Gaza, that's just admitting that Iraqi insurgents are humans like you and me, and they are responsible for the decisions they make in their life, as are you and I in ours. You don't agree that without outside influence the UAE would not exist at all? The entire country is a foreign creation - if left to their own devices the Saudis would have swallowed up all the UAE territory and oil years ago, and their would be no such thing as a Dubai. You mean outside workers? right? No, I'm talking about the entire creation of the country. If it weren't protected by the British from 1900-1971, the Saudis would have annexed the land, subjugated the locals, kpet the oil for their royal family, and it would be a part of Saudi Arabia from about 1950 on. There would be no such things as the UAE. The only reason it exists is due to foreign British influence. So if you think Dubai is a nice place, thank England for stopping the Saudis from screwing it up.
