<<A little regular exercise does wonders for your health. It's the people who do nothing and drift through life like flotsam that need lots of medical care.>>

Agree with you totally, but in the past couple days, I'm beginning to wonder about a few other angles to the health-care situation.

In the last couple days,my younger son has been shuttling back and forth (three hours each way) between his home/work and an apparently very important girlfriend who is in intensive care in a nearby state, due to an auto accident, in which she was only an innocent passenger. She apparently has suffered injuries to just about every organ in her body, plus her back.

As I understand it, the ICU victim's parents are from a small town in NC. The victim is in terrible condition and many surgeries are planned to fix things, and some surgery has already been postponed due to complications.

I not only am concerned about the mental state of my own son in the face of this personal tragedy, but I'm now wondering about the financial state of the victim's parents, who are from a small NC town and may not have insurance to cover her care. Health care is complicated.

And I don't know how good my own son's health insurance coverage is at this point.......he's out on his own working for an employer, and he's out of our control while out on the highway shuttling from one state to another. All I know is, he does have some health insurance, whatever that might cover.
