You are right when it comes to securing the iPod to the tray or seat back when flying. I like your idea about Velcro. I might try to make the iPod holder myself.

Regarding watching the iTunes downloaded video. I haven't tried this yet, but you might try it and see if it works. Here's what to do: First, download, or transfer, a movie to a notebook computer. This would be portable, and allow you to place the notebook next to your TV. Second, your TV must have an S-Video input, and your notebook must have an S-Video output. Now, connect the S-Video cable to your notebook and TV. Select an input for your TV that will work with the S-Video input. Finally, play the movie on your notebook, and you should see it on the TV.

The question is, given you see the movies on the TV, can you get it to fill the screen? I believe that this is a matter of having the resolution need on the TV and notebook.

It's worth a try. Let me know if it works.
