The ones I like are some of the early airplane designs. I remember seeing a picture of a largish triple winger with a row of motors placed on the upper wing. My immediate reaction was dang, I hope nobody tried to open the throttle on all those! Reading the fine print, indeed, the pilot was killed on the first attempted takeoff by a nose over when he applied full throttle.

Now Galloping Gertie actual relates to the money supply issue. That was a feedback issue, just like cyclic booms and busts in economics.
