OT, if anyone has an answer to this, I would appreciate it too. Recently, I could not have been able to turn off the streaming quotes in Yahoo either. :(

OT: To turn streaming quotes on/off at Yahoo, go to the home page (http://finance.yahoo.com/). At the top right, there is a toggle button (on/off). It might take a couple of seconds to appear. Click on it to toggle between on and off.

The button is controlled by java script. If you have a script blocking add-on installed with firefox, you have to tell it to allow scripting from the finance.yahoo.com site.

Hope this helps
