<Wayne, where is McCain liberal?<

I don't think he's a liberal. You called him far to the right and I think he's center.

>He believes in the war, but not in running it like Mortimer Snerd.<

There are two schools on the right. The neo-cons/religious right and the libertarians. The neo-cons and religious right are pro-war and the rest are anti-war. The libertarians are nothing like the left in their attitudes about the war though - even though both sides are anti-war. So he's somewhere on the right, but the part of the right that only recently hijacked foreign policy.

>He stood beside Bush on immigration.<

The right couldn't be any more against illegal immigration. The right hates Bush and McCain on this issue.

>He may be a little American on the abortion issue, but it doesn't seem to be a major plank for him, either way.<

This is still close to 50-50 or 60-40 issue and he's somewhere in the center on it.

>He is definitely into corporate welfare.<

Again, there are two schools on this. There are the FAKE republicans/conservative that are really pro-government spending, buying votes, etc.. and there are the libertarians and those that want to shrink government etc... Bush and the recent congress are both the fake variety. They are actually liberals on this. They just buy a different set of voters than the liberals. That's why both the president and the tossed republican congress were/are actually so unpopular on the REAL right.
