Did you read roger cohens op ed in the NYT today. He differntiates between neocons, liberal interventionists and the new left. Difference is the lib ints will intervene when they pragmatically can and when they have international support. Many lib ints wanted saddam gone too, but realized it was a monumental mistake for the US to go it alone. I guess blair, french socialist FM, and others fit into this category too. Problem with neocon is that theres was imperialism even if based on helping others. Problem with iraq is that there were plenty of bad players on the other side like chirac, russians, big business etc who had an interest in doing business with saddam. Its a fine line.
