'When those dollars start flooding the domestic market, inflation will skyrocket and interest rates will ultimately have to rise precipitously to avoid hyperinflation. So much for helping the homeowner.'

Homeowners with low fixed rate mortgages would seem to get bailed out too by this scenario.. The holders of any devaluing fixed rate paper get slaughtered longer term even though shorter term attempts to limit loan losses will do little good anyway.
