OK...see what you meant re technology....Would discovering electricity have counted as new, or was it always there and we just didn't know it? Actually, I think it have everything on earth that we need...it's just we have to discover how to use it As far as the ME is concerned....the extremist people who want to cause the rest of the world's peoples such misery and death evidently think it would be great for everyone to go back to the 7th century. Maybe even farther back.. As far as I'm concerned, they could all be loaded up and put in the middle of the desert, put an automatic "ring of fire" around them to keep them there, and let them cope there. And hopefully rot there. They could have what they want, and could leave all of the rest of us alone. Win - Win. Interesting about the gold in seawater....Didn't know that! It must cost a humungous amount of money to retrieve it, or some folks would already have done it....
