I am not against gay marriages; they should be allowed to be as miserable at home as the rest of us.

But from a practical point of view, given that in most of ME heterosexual men hold hands, can dance with other men, and hug and kiss in public (albeit not on the mouth, but then again nobody can do that there), and for a number of other similar reasons, then the issue of being in the closet is practically moot.
