I am not here to rewrite history especially when facts from both sides appear faulty. I dont know what happened to that plane--the accident explanation may be correct. Same with chemicals. I dont know that US wanted iran/iraq war. There was a tilt as there is today to sunnis and saudi oil. I am not sure that should be our policy. I argued it back then during iran/iraq because it was clear iraq had taken the low road in that war and we were condoning use of chemical agents. Same today--we cowtow to saudis and that makes it impossible to dialogue with iran.
No iranian nukes to inflame situation but dialogue with iran and at least start the process to wean us off of saudi oil so we can have a more balanced policy in the middle east vis a vis jews and arabs and sunni and shiaas.
All the garbage written here about israel and iran is nothing compared to the perverse influence saudi oil has on our policies in the middle east.
