Petz, > HP was a poor choice for them and many others.

Fine, then I'll argue that Apple has an "illegal monopoly" on iPhones because I'm forced to go with AT&T. I want to stick to Verizon, but that means I can't get an iPhone. I'm a consumer, and I have no "choice."

> Even if it were not, the fact that there was only 1-2 brands of AMD-based notebooks in retail stores and 5-6 brands of Intel-based notebooks would reduce the sales of AMD-based notebooks because the consumer had fewer choices.

Maybe the fact that AMD notebooks sucked at that time had nothing to do with it?

How many times have we seen AMD fans report what they saw on the shelves of Circuit City/Best Buy/Fry's/Costco? "I see 10 AMD desktop and 8 AMD laptops on display. Only 2 Intel laptops and 1 Intel desktop." This is the type of post I saw frequently even as far back as the 90's.

Consumer choice was healthy throughout all those years. If AMD competes, they can get their stuff sold. If not, they complain to the authorities.
