Rights vs. privileges.

If you went back to the 1770's and told the guys there that in the future they might OUTLAW the owning and riding of horses I think they would have laughed at the idea, but if you could have convinced them it was a possibilty then they could very well have included that right in the Constitution. TODAY, I don't think you have the right nor the privilege to ride a horse in most cities.

"so what's the point".....on gun registration?? If every gun had to be registered, then it would be easier to track down guns used in crimes. It would be HARDER for a guy to just pick up 200 guns in one state and sell them in another state. It could help the U.S. stop being at the top of the list of gun violence deaths in the world.

I said, "Why would a gun owner object to having their gun registered if they don't plan on doing something illegal".

You said, "Why would you assume they plan to do something wrong"? I think your thinking on THIS point was the same thinking that most of our Government Agencies had just prior to 9/11. YES we have some Muslims over here, but WHY should we assume they plan to do anything wrong???

NO....I don't plan on being a CRIMINAL. I cannot think of any government in this country that would deprive a law abiding, registered, gun owner from keeping a firearm for his own personal protection.
