I was just telling a friend yesterday that Obama's actions on von Spakovsky were pushing me a little closer to the Obama camp. I'm thinking a little less of Edwards now that he's taking public financing for his campaign. Idealism is one thing, unilateral disarmament in such a crucial time is another. I like Edwards better than Clinton but he doesn't have the credibility with me that Obama has.

This weekend a friend of mine from LA sent me a video clip of a Lebanese comedian who sometimes dresses in drag and mimics some of Lebanon's popular female singers. My friend is Lebanese American and she knows how freaked out I was about Israel attacking Lebanon last year. In any case, this video clip was just before the war.......what I like about the Lebanese people is how open they are [for Arabs] and how much they like to have fun. Its too bad they have to deal with so much fighting. Here's the clip.....its a hoot......even without knowing the language: youtube.com I am also struck by how many great entertainers in other countries that we never see. If Shakira had not made the effort to crossover, we would never have known one of the most popular female singers in S. America and whom I think is a really great performer. I wish there was a way to balance it out so we get more people from abroad performing in the US.
