re: Beyond that in this case I haven't even been making an argument against a government subsidy of insurance for the poor, merely against extending that subsidy to those who have enough wealth to be able to afford insurance without any such subsidy.

But, if there were no program for the (very) poor, I'm pretty damn sure you would be against a new SCHIP program. No?

Since you are so reasonably "merely against extending that subsidy to those who have enough wealth to be able to afford insurance without any such subsidy" can you explain how a family with 4 kids, that's six people, making $60K a year can afford health insurances costing $XX,XXX per year?

Also still waiting on the list of middle class subsidies.

And you might want to compare the smashing success of our Iraq expenditures, which you support, to the minuscule dollars required to insure our uninsured children. How much are we spending in "Iraq reconstruction" (or corruption), compared to the few billions required to provide health care to our own children?

Roll it around in your mind. What are your priorities?
