One of the most suspect was Flo-jo. (Florence Griffith Joyner). Her physical appearence changed while her times went way down in just a year or so. Her 100m and 200m world records still stand after nearly 20 years.

100 10.49 Florence Griffith Joyner (US) Indianapolis, Indiana 7/16/88
200 21.34 Florence Griffith Joyner (US) Seoul, South Korea 9/29/88

Marion Jones didn't come close.

The 400m records stands from 1985.
400 47.60 Marita Koch (East Germany) Canberra, Australia 10/06/85

The East Germans were notorius for steroid use.
