KT,

You can count the number of liberals on the Lew Rockwell, Mises, and other libertarian web pages on one hand. Those are extremely active web pages. Libertarians are literally frothing at the mouth for Ron Paul. Saying liberals are making most of those donations does not make it so...especially when it obviously isn't true. ;-) Of course if you consider libertarians to be on the left, we have definitional issues. ;-)

>Nobody knows why we started this war<

I think it's pretty obvious why. There was more than one reason. Each reason was debatable, but much of the left was/is living in such a delusional idealistic state they seem to have no idea as to why a legitimate case could be made for each reason and why the whole thing was worthy of discussion. Now they don't understand the implications of rapid withdrawal because of that same idealism (with a few exceptions).

When the left voted for the war, it was because it was politically popular at the time and so was Bush. As soon as things started going poorly, the left changed sides and was against it.

Did you know that 1 of 5 democrats hopes the U.S. loses according to a recent poll? That's a sad state of affairs.

Now it's certainly possible that deep down inside most lefties were against it all along, but that's an even bigger knock against them for voting for it. It shows how phoney they are. The right may currently be mistaken, but they still believe they are right and are willing to take it on the chin politically for what they believe.

Please don't tell me the left voted for the war because people were lied to. That's makes them dumber than a nail. Everyone that was paying any attention knew they were spinning and lying to make the political case for war to the general public and the world.

Of course I agree that the war seems to have turned out to be a mistake, but the left never did and still doesn't understand why we were there and what the risks of leaving are.

About the only person on the left I respect on this issue is Obama. I disagree with him on most things, but IMHO, he's a high quality person. If he won, I would hide my wallet, but I'd trust him.

Here's a Charlie Rose interview that is well worth watching for the entire hour. The video should be up shortly.
