that chart seems to look very similar to global IC sales chart - with the exception that Y2K was an excursion.

Though chips are not outperforming the coverage chips receive from the "financial community" has never been greater.

It could be false - I'm not a statistician but most people die in bed - it does not mean the bed is more dangerous than driving a car.
could it be that chips drive the Nasdog while the chip segment actually lags the Nasdog -
a good example would be Apple AAPL
