Yes, my family sold all kinds of stuff related to the operation of farms and ranches. Tractors, windmills, pumps, plows, motors, everything imaginable. My dad even imported horseshoe nails from Denmark. At one point, we sold alfalfa seed, milk filters to be used in filtering filthy diesel. In addition, we sold building materials, cement, pipe, paint, I could go on and on.

The design of windmills is simple and ingenious. Use the wind to drive a rod that operates a cylinder and two opposed valves. That's essentially it. Absolutely required in arid regions. No reason why it cannot be used anywhere else.

I cannot think of a more efficient, inexpensive and elegant way of doing the job. Almost mystically simple. I wonder how many inventions of its value remain to be discovered.
