Stubs. Yes, "tax planning/tax management" can be another good reason for keeping stubs. I've overlooked that. Thanks for mentioning your experience and methods.

I say let's do what works. I'm convinced stubs have helped me with portfolio performance. I don't keep track of the numbers and so I can't substantiate it though. If I can translate your "60%" into something like the stubs that go up in value go up more in value in total than the stubs (40%) that might drop in value, then that aspect of investing (keeping stubs) is something worth considering.
