My kids want Macs, my wife wants a new Mac. I'm the only person that still has demand for PC products because of the browser standards. I would much rather fork over the money for my kids to own Mac prooducts that will make them happy campers. I've been standing out in left field for years buying all kinds of iTunes, iPods, iBooks without every really noticing that Apple products were overwhelming my gateway laptop. There is no reason for me to worry about MSFT for another 3 years, since I have my Vista upgrade and my 2 GB memory upgrade.

However, I just bought a new iPod, I'm going to upgrade Leopard on my iBook, and I will buy a couple new iPhones or iPods. Once I get the iBook upgraded, I will also think about buying a new Mac for my wife and pass along the iBook to the kids. Everything I will be buying and replacing for the wife and kids will be Mac based. If my work did not require IE browsers, I would do the same.

If Apple ever pursues their case against MSFT for anti competitive behavior in the browser market, I would support them 100%. Not that it matters.<g> Still, someone has to address the fact that Safari 4.0 should include access to IE sites. Safari 3.0 does a sweet job for Mac and Vista, since it loads the pages so much faster.

If Apple can break through the browser obstacle, I think the corporate market would reflect the same preference for Macs witnessed by the younger crowd.
