where? In the European theatre? Or in the USA?

I have read a number of histories of the WWII period and they seem consistent that Ike had a number of detractors, within the War Department and in the press. Our early efforts in North Africa did not go well...and there was criticism.

Because of Marshall's leapfrogging of Ike over many other senior generals, there were a lot of old brass who weren't too sure obout him. MacArthur said Ike was the "best clerk he every had". Pretty darn catty, huh?

You can google as well as I can. There are plenty of articles out there indicating the criticism. You were there, but did you see everything?
