Skeeter,

>Wayne, why do you require so much more from those who would end the war compared to those who started the war?<

I thought I was very clear on numerous occasions that I believe the republicans (and even some specific neocons I despise) originally were and still are thinking about the issues and risks properly. What I disapprove of is the spinning, lying, and specific motivations of some.

That does not mean I think the republicans (and democrats that also supported the war) definitely made the right decision. I could easily see someone concluding it was a bad idea right from the start even if IMO they were thinking about things properly (I was 50-50 at the start). However, if you thought it was a bad idea in the beginning and/or you want to withdraw immediately now, IMO you at least have to be thinking about the risks and rewards properly for me to respect your view. I don't see a lot of evidence of that on the anti-war side right now among politicians and some others.

I mostly see people that are frustrated with the results to date and others that see it as a way to gain power because it's so politically unpopular.

Obviously the results have been very poor so far, but as far as I am concerned that still doesn't mean it was definitely a bad decision then or now.

The other day I went "all in" with pocket aces against a pair of kings. I got outdrawn. The result was terrible, but it was definitely the right decision. It is possible to make a correct decision based on probabilities and get a bad result.
