Now that is interesting. I would assume multi family dwellings would be taxed at a different rate than single family homes. And taking another look I see that most of the value is in the land. Not surprising for that area. And I am really surprised at the total assessed value. I always thought that homes in the LA area were worth more.

We recently got a new assessment for our place, and the land value doubled while the blding only rose my a few thousand dollars. That kind of assessment is new in this area. The bldings have always been valued higher than the land.

Tax Information
Tax Assessment History 2004 2005 2006
Total property tax paid: $3,128 $3,228 $3,296
Assessed value bldgs: $14,279 $14,855 $15,152
Assessed value land: + $260,014 + $270,518 + $275,928
Total assessed value: = $274,293 = $285,373 = $291,080
