Fine, so Reid Slandered Rush. He can issue challenges to Harry Reid all day and nothing will come of it. Only the Rush loyalists pay any attention to challenges issued to Senators. Nobody expects Reid to come on Rush's show to "debate" him (like Rush debates anybody!) any more than Cheney would go on some lib talk show.

But the Votevets representatives are willing to come on Rush's show and discuss the entire matter. I am sure they can bury the hatchet. Rush should do it for the simple reason that he is losing this war of words. No...he has already lost it...big time.

He can end the matter by, instead of throwing out empty challenges to Senators, have a civil discussion with the guys who CLAIM (right or wrong, correct or incorrect, understood or misunderstood) that he slandered them.

Then is will be over...finally.

The Fat Man is not doing republicans any good at this point. The Votevets have the high ground (except for the Rush loyalists, who don't care that he edited the transcript or made a stupid, stupid analogy to a homicide bomber - and there is no way saying "strap the words on his belt and send him out to bump into as many people as possible" can't be analogized that way, despite what Rush says)...

The ten percent of the electorate right in the middle, who will settle the election next year, think Rush is wrong on this. He can salvage something if he brings the Votevets guys on.

Republicans seem adept over the past few years of shooting themselves not only in the foot, but everywhere else....they can't win next year unless they smarten up.
