Fears over safety of Chinese imports prompt U.S. officials to study Japan

By Martin Fackler Published: October 9, 2007

Japan engages in far more rigorous testing of Chinese imports, particularly food, than the United States, but the innovation getting the most attention is its system for screening Chinese producers even before they ship to Japan. The program is the product of Japan's longer experience with Chinese safety problems, going back to the discovery five years ago of high levels of pesticides on frozen spinach from China.

"Japan is five years ahead of the rest of the world in dealing with quality problems from China," said Tatsuya Kakita, the author of several books here on food safety. "The world can learn from Japan."

cut the bull doodoo cb ilaine, read it and weep ...

let me honestly quote, verbatim, rather than let you spin, as you always had ... using the defendant's website yet ... is that how you do your lawyering

lolololol, so therapeutic, wonderful

and yet so very pathetic

iht.com

... The extraordinary gesture by Thomas Debrowski, the Mattel executive vice president for worldwide operations

... acknowledged that the "vast majority of those products that were recalled were the result of a design flaw in Mattel's design, not through a manufacturing flaw in China's manufacturers ...

takes full responsibility for these recalls and apologizes personally to you, the Chinese people and all of our customers who received the toys."

Now, legal beagle CB Ilaine who gets cashflow from deadbeats, how do you figure, in your spinning ways, the one way we are supposed to read the above from your esteemed washington media?

i read it as the morons in charge were lazy, did not bother to specify properly, failed to QC, and accepted whatever was made per their spec in their greedy rush to ship, paid for the goods and on-sold to mr and mrs walmart.

DO YOU HAVE SOME OTHER EXPLANATION?

Meaning, why are the toys I bought for my kid from European shops here in HK but also made in China not recalled?!

Next you will tell me that the born-agains of Blackwater are not shooting innocents indiscriminantly with no fear of legal consequences because they are not tagging along with an invading army that is not torturing folks, or that the spooks are not kidnapping innocents and beating them senseless, all supported by your tax dollars and YOUR vote!
