OT

Since its not about the kids. this was mostly a true story I posted on the recipe thread. The poster was raving about a new diet where he took a sip of water between every bite of food.

WARNING to everyone. This DIET DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

Let me enlighten you to my story. First I thought the idea of eating slower and drinking the water in between every bite probably had some merrit. So I decided to make chicken burritos and try it out.

I use Pinto beans about 3 or four cups.
dice 2 large onions
2 palms full of salt
fill with hot water

Cook in crock pot for about 12 hrs.

Then I used a fajita recipe on the chicken (4 lbs) (big family)
boneless chicken breasts cut into strips

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup ketchup (sounds bad but trust me)
salt and pepper to taste

Marinate for about 6 hours.

Cook chicken in shallow pan at 350 for about 35 minutes mixing from time to time.

squish up the beans.

lettuce, tomatos, cheese.....etc

Ok I love this stuff so I started with this "diet". This way maybe I wouldn't eat so much.

So while im sitting around cooking and marinating, I think to myself, "Water huh, well pretty bland stuff.. humm...since its really suppose to just fill me up and I AM having low fat calorie chicken breasts...yeah, I think I'll substitute Margaritias for the water"

So I quickly whip up some margarita mix.

1 - 1/2 cups lime juice
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup sugar
4 - 1/2 cups WATER! (thats the main ingrediant of this whole thing!!)

3 parts mix
1 part tequilla
1 part triple sec

So there I am nibbling away. One bite, chew, chew, chew, chew, sip margarita. Another bite.....chew.chew......sip margarita.

Now, about all this chewing, ya know it kinda makes you thirsty. So once in a while you need to gulp instead of sip the margarita. I mean what could it hurt?? I fill up faster and I figured this way my glass would get empty more often and I could get my daily excersize going back and forth filling up my glass.

Im telling you by the time I finished that first burrito I was absoultly FAMISHED. So on to the second. Bite, chew, chew ,chew, gulp...repeat.

Im thinking NO WAY! this isnt working AT ALL! Im about to fix myself the third burrito when it strikes me, "hmmm all this sugar and lime juice isnt really helping my weight situation so maybe I should cut down on the caloric intake by....hmmm.... YEAH SHOOTERS! yes, tequilla shots. Thats the ticket!"

Well I chomped down, very slowly mind you, on my third burrito, Chew, chew, chew..ola`!...bite repeat.

Well imagine my surprise and disappointment when I awoke the next morning. There was an empty quart of cookies and cream Ice cream with hints of whip cream and hersheys chocholate, An empty pack of doritos chips AND a half eaten box of frosted mini wheats.

Some diet! IT DOESNT WORK!!! Now I probably shouldnt be so harsh. I was a bit disappointed that it didnt work and Ive been thinking....maybe it doesnt work with burritos..........
