"Well then once again that renders your original question irrelevant, no? "

Not really. Right now the issue is research, not treatment.

"I thought you were advocating the use of embryos from fertility clinics, which would otherwise end up in the "dumpster."

I am - for the research that needs to be done now.

"I know you don't have any moral objection to that, but to me that's no different than killing your own newborn child to save yourself."

Why? I wouldn't have used the embryo to have a child, as I don't want any, so that NEVER would have been the choice. The VAST majority of embryos never become children - they are just sloughed off during a woman's period. Why waste 'em? Your attitude isn't scientific at all. Besides, techniques are being developed ( in CA! ) that will hopefully end the need for human embryos.

Are you REALLY an Ivy League educated engineer?

re: I know you don't have any moral objection to that, but to me that's no different than killing your own newborn child to save yourself.... I'm neutral on this subject. All I know that when it comes to medical research, there is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Like it or not, you are inscrutable. You say why you are against and claim you are neutral. It's weird.
