I agree that Dubya is a symptom of 30 years of Reaganomics but he is also contributing to the problem everyday that he sits in office and smirks at the stupidity of the American public.

It is amazing that well educated, well heeled people still argue about how capitalism is the only answer and all government, except for defense and police, is the problem. The propaganda runs so incredibly thick in the US.

You can tell people that the Republicans have increased the national debt, subverted the Constitution, are taxing and stealing, started an illegal war and are trying to start another one, are 100% bought and paid for by corporations, etc, etc. They still think it is every man for himself and that social security and national health care are socialist conspiracies.

They never have any numbers, figures or facts but they are always completely convinced.

I conclude that most American adults are incredibly stupid and ignorant. I do not know what to do about it. I do hope that they become just frightened enough to stop being stupid and ignorant.
