Lam beat the high range of prior estimates for revenue.

10/10/07 Lam Research reports Q1 revs $684.6 mln vs $675.48 mln Reuters consensus; does not report EPS due to ongoing options investigation (LRCX) 54.69 +0.92 : "Lam Research produced another strong quarter, driven by sound operational execution and continued market share gains. We have enjoyed significant success in enhancing our market position at the leading edge, winning a number of new applications and executing to our customers' most critical challenges... Our results continue to keep pace with the long term strategic and financial objectives that we have set out for Lam."

I wrote this in a recent newsletter:

"09/20/07 Update. In July Lam beat Q4 revenue estimates but did not announce earnings saying it was reviewing its stock option accounting. Lam raised guidance and said it expects Q4 revenues of $655M-$675M with earnings of $1.13 to $1.17 per share. For calendar year 2007, Lam expects revenues to be sequentially up by 15% to 20% and EPS to be in the range of $4.50 to $4.70. At $52, LRCX is selling at a PE of 11.0 to 11.6. "

"- Operating
Income: U.S. GAAP: $197.9 million Ongoing: $201.0 million"

The last share count was 135.07M so GAAP EPS before the options adjustment is $1.47 per share if I pushed buttons correctly!

Can they have beat earnings that much???!!!
