Kirk said ... you and a few others tried to make it look like the Good Dr was either lying or did something illegal such as violating copyright.

I didn't say any such thing, Kirk, and I didn't "try to make it look like" anything either. I simply questioned the writer as to what was evidence and what was opinion. First, James didn't report his cancellation here, did he? Like you, I believe Honey did; perhaps she thought it was her "duty" to do so. I believe also that editorial comments were included and aspersions were cast upon what the "real" motives behind the cancellation might be without any proof thereof.

Why not find out why Brinker canceled the guy's subscription and then warn others to be careful or it could happen to them?

Why not indeed, but realistically speaking, how are we ever going to know? James was given an answer to his question that he apparently didn't like or didn't accept, but I don't believe he's ever denied it. So as far as I can see, it's always going to be a matter of opinion. How do you see it getting resolved from here?

I'm not saying Brinker was doing anything illegal to refuse service...

Good, apparently we agree.

I'm just protecting the reputation of one of my friends who some of you seem intent on tarnishing his fine reputation. I don't like it when "the collective you" do it to me and I don't like it when you do it to people I respect, like and/or care for.

If anyone's "tarnished" his reputation, it's not been me. I have never said he lied or cast aspersions on his reputation or anything of the kind. If anyone's "tarnished" his reputation, it's those who've reposted his old posts and demonstrated that he felt negative toward Brinker all along. That's certainly his prerogative. But that negative feeling appears to be clear in some of the old posts that have been posted right here by those whose motives appear to be solely to attack Brinker on any and all fronts.

Do you know if Brinker has made any good friends from the list of people who started out subscribing to his newsletter?

How would I possibly know that?

If I had to guess, I'd guess that he's made friends AND (apparently) enemies, just as I'd guess you and perhaps any other newsletter writers have.

And the only reason I can think of that a basher would subscribe, is to find little things to nit-pick and criticize. So a cancelled subscription should not be a big deal.

Talk about being not nice! From everything I have read from his posts, the "good doctor" is most definitely NOT someone I would want to know!

Kirk said, with regard to "Dr. James":

I'm not saying Brinker was doing anything illegal to refuse service... I'm just protecting the reputation of one of my friends... [emphasis added]

Should someone be saying "AHA!"...?
