A lot of the bigger companies recognize domestic partner as a life style choice and extend insurance. I don't have the slightest idea of what the whole marriage thing is about. I was married 3 times before I was 30. I'm just not good at it. Janet and I have been together 17 years now and haven't bothered. It's so passe, don't cha know.

I would think liberal, progressive people forging new worlds would disdain marriage. Shows what I know. Probably an in your face kind of thing. None of the gay people I know now (couples) or knew in years gone past seemed to care one way or the other. However, I haven't really done any in depth investigating.

Just throwing my 2 cents in, trying to get the post count really up there.

EDIT: Not meaning to belittle those who have been married successfully for many years. I've always admired the maturity, dedication, and commitment that seems to take. I didn't get to that point until somewhat later in life. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention good judgment, another trait that escaped me as a youth.
