Gus > Portrayed as a predator who would move to France and steal jobs by working for less pay, this "plumber" has come to personify French fears about the future.

Yes, the situation between the SA blacks and the "illegals" is something like that except the Africans who come to SA are far more desperate -- and so are the SAns who are unemployed. They are all starving and so are their families but the Polish plumber is merely poor and sees a better opportunity which the French resent giving him because of job reservation.

The situation in SA is far more serious then in France and SA cannot cope with the immigrants. SA doesn't have the resources for its own people, let alone for those who seek a better life here from all over Africa. In fact, the real unemployment rate for SAns is around 40% although, officially, they mention 25%. Many people believe they will never be employed in their lifetime. Despite this, there are communities from Ethiopia, Ghana, DRC and Nigeria trying to eke out a living here and that's besides those from Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Indeed, if you, in your wisdom, have a remedy for what is happening I would be very glad to hear it.
