The upset is deserved. Both parties have abused power recently. I do not respect borrow and spend Republicans any more than tax and spend democrats.

Right now the system is a two party system. Before a credible third party candidate can be elected the mechanisms that rigidly support the two party system have to be weakened.

A third party candidacy by Ron Paul would ensure that the Democrat nominee was elected. For instance if not for Perot, we would only have vague recollections of a Arkansas governor, his mistress and other problems instead of an eight year nightmare complete with universal sex education.
