Yes, I have a position on CFC at a cost of $17+ per share.

In my opinion, what you have pointed out are all known factors, and the market price has discounted these uncertainties. I am a contrarian investor, and I like to use technical + fundamental analysis in making an investment judgement. (Please refer to the chart in my original posting on CFC).

SEC investigates Countrywide chief

The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating stock sales by Angelo Mozilo, chief executive of Countrywide Financial (NYSE:CFC) , the largest US mortgage lender hit by the subprime mortgage crisis.

The probe into Mr Mozilo is part of a broader look by the SEC at stock sales made by executives at mortgage lenders caught up in the subprime crisis, according to a person familiar with the ­matter.

Countrywide spokesman Rick Simon said: "As a matter of policy, Countrywide does not comment on communications with regulators.
