Forgetting for now (if we can...) the *hundreds of billions* in 'off-budget' war costs that don't appear in these official government deficit numbers.... (just remember to mentally add those hundreds of billions back into Bush II's already historic deficit count....)

Let's also forget for now the smoke-and-mirrors budget flim-flam caused by using the temporary social Security account surpluses to DISGUISE from the public the true extent of the government's ongoing massive structural deficits... (A flim-flam that has been materially significant ever since the Reagan years....)

Let's just look at the 'OFFICIAL' government deficit numbers.
