college for me it was a way to advance and earn an income. I went three and four nights a week as accounting major with minor in finance to get a bs in accounting and finance. i had a tremendous work load at my place of employment later to install a new computer system. in the middle of going to college i got my selective service notice for a physical so i joined national guard vs 2 years of active army, lose work promotional opportunities, fall behind in obtaining degree or the perhaps the lady i was later to marry. then i did six months active service a year later and vietnam started to get serious while i was in basic training. When i joined the guard it was maybe 40% staffed. 18 months later it was full. so now i am working on computer installation 60 hours a week, attending drills on weekends. During this time i found time to get married , have three children , and graduate. I never went to my graduation. I figured i spent enough time at college. that sunday was my day!

I worked hard and got high grades in accounting , finance. I hated most all other required courses. they placed demands on me where hours were not available to enrich my world education.

the only elective i really enjoy was one on political science, harvard prof taught it. he was on senator staff from utah prior to accepting position at Harvard. He gave us the back door experiences of what really goes on in campaigns.. Four years of english including British lit. was just awful. same with most of the other electives. I don't remember many night school students ever talking about college enriching them other than financially.
