Gee, I wonder if I scratch the surface of the great rise in US household net worth, I'll discover a real estate bubble? My own house has gone up in value 85% during that span. Otherwise retail inflation (real, not pretend) has been ~ 34% during that span (5% compounded annually).

2001-->2007 shows a household net worth gain of 43%.

So that 43% number (in which the majority of households have the majority of their net worth tied up in their home) suddenly might not be quite so great, eh?
