Truth (particularly about very important matters) should take 'precedence' over politically correct expedience.

And, as American Values President Gary Bauer was recently quoted as saying: "I don't see how you negotiate with a Holocaust denier."

If the Armenian genocide is erased from the history books (as Turkey would prefer), then who is to say that the Jewish genocide can't be erased from the books one day as well... (Iran would like that, and some Germans as well), or Riwanda's? Or what the Islamicists of Sudan have been up to for the past decade or so....

(Anyway... Turkey still really, really wants to be let into the EU --- only their obstinate refusal to tell the truth about these matters had ALREADY stirred up significant opposition in Europe to letting them in. We could be doing Turkey a huge favor in this, by helping them to finally address these matters --- 'cause they *sure* are not going to get into the EU if they still 'officially deny' these events... and if they keep on locking up journalists who dare to mention it, and bombing newspaper offices.)

Not good if we have to bargain away the Kerd's.
