I did see that -- I took that to mean you could convert your household wealth into 38.6% less gold, which isn't a particularly useful metric to me over a very short term (e.g. less than 100 years <g>. However, I went back and read the original post and see that he elaborated on some better recent comparisons. I mistook his original thrust to mean the rise was a great thing.

I think in another three years or so, the household wealth survey will look neither rosy nor level as real estate deflates and the damage it caused shows up elsewhere. Maybe even the stock market.
