10/19/07 update
Along with the rest of the market, biotechs had a rough week. The Nasdaq Biotech Index closed Friday up 8.87% YTD (vs. up 12.16% YTD a week ago). Smaller-cap biotechs were hit slightly less hard and at Friday's close the Charity Contest portfolios' median loss was -7.96% YTD (vs. down -6.78% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, just 10 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD, with only the three top contestants beating the NBI. TECHNET's portfolio (up 27.1% YTD) still leads, I'm in second place (up 13.0% YTD) and MOPGCW (up 11.3% YTD) is No. 3.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
