Palladium - December 2005 (the majority of my purchase..) plus a few buys in the fall of 2006. Held till last week.

Platinum - early 2005 till last week. I don't regret selling the Palladium (well not now.. ahem..) but the platinum.. yeah... we could see higher prices...

In regards to ease of buying and selling. Paid $20 over spot for 100 ounces of Palladium (as Canadian coins..) sold for spot. Had to wait about 4 day for coins to come in, sold coins the same day I brought them to the dealer. Bought some Palladium coins at spot when the coins would come in (fall 2006) (my dealer didn't like keeping them around..)

Platinum - paid 1.5% over spot - sold 1.5% under. Bought over a period of a few months. Generally bought when the dealer had it in stock so I got a break on pricing.

Note I have been going to the same dealer for 5 years and have made purchases (in total..) in the 6 figure range. So they would hold coins, bars for me when I showed interest.
