I don't think this approach is wise. It's gambling with your life, IMO. One never knows if there's some tumour festering somewhere in your brain etc.. Americans are famous for their gambling with their own personal health and security - all for the sake of "lower taxes", rugged individualism, removing any "barriers" to grasping the "American Dream". I value my safety net here and feel comfortable that if I get very sick, it won't bankrupt me (insurance or not).

Aren't old folks covered by Medicaid? I thought Americans at least had that available. Repugnicans want to do away with that also (and the SS benefits). So they want to throw Granny out of her home - sick and hungry.
